We use thieves in the diffuser whenever someone is sick. Each of the kids has a diffuser by their bed and them minute we are exposed to something or they start complaining of a sore throat or are feeling nauseous, the diffuser is on. We also rub a drop on the bottoms of their feet when they are sick, fighting something, or just to boost their immune systems. Thieves is a hot oil so it can irritate the skin, it is best to test the oil and always dilute it when you are using it with children.
For sore throat or tooth aches, we drop the oil directly onto the problem area. It burns for about 20 seconds and then it numbs the area. It effectively kills strep throat, helps relieve symptoms of tonsillitis and often by the next day our throat feels fine.
If you do not have a diffuser, you can also put a few drops of thieves onto a cotton ball and put it into your heat vent, its a great way to purify the air while diffusing it into the air. Be advised however, that a cool mist ultrasonic diffuser is the best way to go as it uses no heat and thus does not break down any of the oils healing properties.
